Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how W2W (What2Wear) ("we", "our", "us"), operated by Faisal Nasir Al-Ghaithi, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Full name
• Username (unique identifier)
• Email address
• Date of birth (minimum age 13)
• Gender (optional: woman, man, or prefer not to say)
• Profile picture
• Optional social media links
• Clothing images
• Selfie and full-body photos (optional, required only if you choose to use the AI virtual try-on feature)
• Device and usage data (e.g., device type, app usage statistics)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide AI styling and outfit planning features
• Enable virtual try-on functionality (only if you upload selfie/body photos)
• Personalize outfit recommendations based on your preferences and gender
• Manage your account
• Send authentication emails and notifications
• Improve app performance and features
• Prevent fraud and ensure security

3. AI and Image Processing

W2W uses artificial intelligence technologies, including Google Gemini API, to analyze images and provide outfit recommendations and virtual try-on features. Images you upload (such as clothing photos and optional selfie/body images) are securely processed solely to provide app functionality. We do not use your images for advertising purposes or sell them to third parties.

Virtual Try-On: If you choose to use the AI virtual try-on feature, you must upload a selfie or full-body photo. This image is processed using AI to generate virtual outfit previews. You can delete these images at any time from your profile settings.

4. AI Consent and Data Sharing with Google Gemini

Before using AI-powered image features, we obtain your explicit consent to share your images with Google Gemini AI.

Features That Require AI Consent:

• Smart Clothing Analysis: When you add clothing items from your gallery, camera, browser, or web, we send the image to Google Gemini API to automatically detect item type, color, brand, style, and suggest tags.
• Virtual Try-On: When you use the virtual try-on feature, we send your selfie and selected clothing images to Google Gemini API to generate outfit previews.
• Image Enhancement: When you enhance images, we send your photos to Google Gemini API for background removal and quality improvements.

What Data is Sent to Google Gemini:

• Clothing item photos you upload
• Selfie or body photos (virtual try-on only, if you choose to use this feature)
• Images captured from camera or web

How Your Data is Protected:

• Images are transmitted securely via HTTPS to Google Gemini API
• Images are processed by Google solely to provide the AI features you requested
• Google does not store your images after processing is complete
• Your images are never shared with other users or third parties for advertising
• We obtain your explicit consent before sending any images to Google Gemini

Your Consent Rights:

You can enable or disable AI features at any time in Settings → AI Features. When AI features are disabled:

• No images will be sent to Google Gemini
• Smart clothing analysis will not be available (you can add items manually)
• Virtual try-on will be unavailable
• Image enhancement will be unavailable
• Text-based outfit suggestions will continue to work (no images are sent for this feature)

Features That Do NOT Require AI Image Consent:

Outfit Suggestions: Our outfit suggestion feature uses only text descriptions of your wardrobe items (e.g., "white shirt, blue jeans"). No images are sent to Google Gemini for this feature.

5. Third-Party Services

Supabase: Authentication and database services.

AWS S3 & CloudFront: Secure storage and delivery of uploaded images.

Google Gemini API: AI image processing for styling and virtual try-on.

OneSignal: Push notifications for app updates and features. OneSignal's SDK may request location permissions as part of its functionality, but W2W does not actively collect, use, or store your location data.

RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management.

6. Push Notifications

We use OneSignal to send you push notifications about:

• App updates and new features
• Outfit recommendations and styling tips
• Account-related information

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. OneSignal may collect device identifiers to deliver notifications, but does not use your data for advertising purposes.

7. Payments

Payments are processed via Apple App Store and Google Play In-App Purchases. We do not collect or store your payment information.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and uploaded images are permanently deleted, unless retention is required for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes.

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time directly within the W2W mobile application by navigating to Settings → Delete Account.

When you delete your account:

• Your profile information is permanently deleted.
• All uploaded images, including clothing items, selfies, and personal photos, are deleted.
• Your account data, including preferences, tags, outfit history, and usage data, is removed from our systems.
• Some data may be retained only if required for legal, security, or fraud prevention purposes.

If you are unable to delete your account from within the app, you can request deletion by contacting us at fnmghaithi@gmail.com. We will process your request promptly, generally within 30 days.

10. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction or updates
• Request deletion
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Request data portability
• Opt-out of the sale of personal data (W2W does not sell user data)

11. Children's Privacy

Our app requires users to be at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred and processed in countries outside your country of residence, such as the United States, where our service providers operate. We take measures to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

13. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app. Continued use of the app after changes signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
